Review - Chicken Little (2005)

Everybody used to think Chicken Little (Zach Braff) was insane because he said the sky was falling, but now he’s out to prove them wrong when he finds out the truth behind that fateful day in “Chicken Little.”
You all remember the story of Chicken Little, right? A little chicken runs around yelling that the sky is falling when it’s really just an acorn? Well, you can forget all of that because Disney decided to just get rid of the original moral of the story and make up their own idea. Granted, the final result isn’t too horrible, but it would have been interesting to see what they could have done with the actual story.
That’s really the only problem here, the writing. The dialogue and the story as a whole are both too awkward and at times a little hard to sit through. My biggest pet peeve is using pop culture (interestingly enough pop culture from about ten years ago) when it’s not needed. There are several scenes where characters sing popular songs and it just doesn’t fit. They even use it as a plot device at least once. I’m sorry if it doesn’t bother you, but I really hate it.
“Chicken Little” is an odd Disney film, in that it doesn’t have any of the magic that Disney has brought us in the past. This is one Disney “classic” you can skip over.
