While I've seen plenty of Japanese films, the whole Yakuza sub-genre is new to me. Seijun Suzuki's film, I'm guessing, is not a typical entry in the genre but I liked it. From the theme song (whistled by the main character throughout the film) to his unconventional baby-face look, these choices are what makes the film memorable.
