The Best That Could Have Been

An interesting look into the life of Marcus Dupree, a high school star with seemingly unlimited potential who had a rough college career, a short-lived USFL stint and an injury, which essentially ended his young career. This is not just about Dupree, but of a hype machine - recruitment, media and the like, which went out of control. You've got to feel for the guy - he may have not ended up where he wanted, but he made the most of what he had. There are a hundred stories like Dupree's every year - for everyone like Robert Griffin III or Andrew Luck, there are many more who wash out prematurely. It just so happens Dupree was a much bigger talent than most, which is why his story is both baffling and poignant.

Once again this 30 for 30 series impresses. I'm liking this series more and more and am really looking forward to the other films in this series, stay tuned.
