Corruption has been done so many times on screen that Rampart feels more like a footnote than a worthy addition to the genre. Woody Harrelson does his part at bringing a conflicted cop to the screen - but this is no Bad Lieutenant - though if you're itching for a dirty cop drama, it will do the trick. It's one of those movies, though, that just doesn't leave much of an impression on you, try as it might.
