Maybe if I had read the book I would have gotten more out of this. As it was, it seemed like a weaker effort in the whole young adult post-apocalyptic genre of films that is becoming ever more popular. The film left more questions than it answered and just felt disjointed and not as interesting as the likes of The Hunger Games or even Divergent. I will check out the sequel, but I'm hoping it picks up (and explains a bit more) the next time around.
