It's impossible to judge Morgan without comparing it to Ex Machina, as both films deal with A.I. and how humans interact with it. But whereas Ex Machina was a gripping, claustrophobic and character-driven masterpiece, Morgan is a dumbed-down slasher masquerading as something deeper. The cast is solid, but the story is predictable (I figured out the so-called twist pretty much immediately) and not that thrilling. There are moments you think something is going to happen, but it never does - a germ of a good idea, though it doesn't deserve all the hate, just most of it.
