This film works for the major reason that Millie Bobby Brown has major acting chops - no Stranger Things needed - and it's just a feel-good film that still imparts some major drama. It helps that the supporting cast, featuring the likes of Henry Cavill (as Sherlock), Sam Claflin (as Mycroft) and Helena Bonham Carter (as Enola's missing mother, Eudoria) also shines. It feels fresh and refreshing to see a new take on an iconic character and with a sequel on the way, color me impressed.
