Not the worst Stephen King adaptation but certainly not amongst the better ones, either. The problem is the film is just so... bland - even the opening "here comes the apocalypse" where things go from bad to worse is laughably terrible and things don't get any better from there. The film feels both rushed and poorly paced - the film went through plenty of development hell - and maybe it just should have stayed there.
