The hardest stretch of the imagination for the film is not getting a DNA sample from an over 1000-year-old nail but believing that Sydney Sweeney could be a nun - I jest! Immaculate is riding a recent wave of religion-based horror and is one of the better offerings - especially that ending - and Sweeney is actually not too bad, with Álvaro Morte, Simona Tabasco and Dora Romano turning in some great supporting roles. Sure, you must suspend a lot of disbelief, but that's most horror for you. Sit back and enjoy the show - and squirm a little too.
