Diary: Dead and Loving It

Although I can't rank this with the classic Romero, Diary of the Dead still manages to provide social commentary (running this time) with good old zombie gruesomeness. This is the YouTube generation's zombie film, though technically it takes place first (apparently this is a launching point for a new dead franchise). I was happy that the camera wasn't so distracting (as say in Cloverfield). I found that both good and bad - it feels more like a real movie, but kind of takes away from the whole shot-by-hand perspective it's going for. It may not be Romero's best, but I think it's a good starting point for a new direction. I'm interested to see what he does next.
