In terms of plot and acting, this probably deserves only 2.5/5 stars. (For Ken Russell's more serious take on prostitution -- and a better film overall -- try "Whore.") I'm giving the extra 1/2 star for Russell's audacious visuals, which still have the power to startle 25 years later. The crazy music video with the birdcage, the hot dog, the "HP" routine . . .
