I guess there's a first time for everything because I would be the first one to think this movie is not that great at all. Yes it's very well directed and yes the screenplay is awesome but the story is just so predictable for me. I really wanted to like it as much as everybody did but I just can't like something that's so unreal. Unreal in the sense that I can't think of a possibility that everything that happened was so supposed to happen like destiny or something. For me it's just like watching TV wrestling. The actors I mean wrestlers are beaten down to ground but then someway somehow they ended up winning the match. Maybe because it's scripted. That's why I knew in some sense the hero is going to win because he's the good guy. And that maybe the case here in Slumdog Millionaire, the good guy is an orphan from the slums of India. I'm not really sure if this story of triumph is well depicted through this movie (I don't want to be the bad guy here but that's just how I feel about it). I mean come on let's be real, (I don't want to give any spoilers) there was just too many plot holes for me to think that is movie is in realm of greatness. Don’t get me wrong I like movies like this. But I think I just got tired of seeing scripted wrestling translate to a movie (not literally though because this movie is totally NOT about Wrestling) like when you already knew what the outcome will be and it sucks to know it. On the good side the love story is pretty well portrayed in this film. I like the chemistry of the lead characters. Overall I really do think there’s way too much hype about Slumdog and it’s just really worth only half of it.
