If you take an old storyline then you add a few bits and pieces of twists and turns then voilà you've got Street Kings. The story is something you probably seen and heard a thousand times before. The only difference is the character that’s in it. If I could rename the title I'd probably name this Departed Confidential. Keanu's acting is mediocre and nothing too different from his previous cop role in Speed. I would have rather liked to see Terry Crews do his robot dance than seeing him do a minute of air time. The only plus side I see is the whole underground take on L.A's mean streets. Common also did something worthy even for a very short amount of time. And also we don't have to worry about Hugh Laurie quitting his day job, he won't be doing that anytime soon after a forgettable performance here. Overall the idea of remaking another good cop bad cop film is not the best thing to do after seeing so many of them in the last ten years or so.
