I whined that my boyfriend was dragging me to this movie, but about ten min into it I was won over. Now I'm not gonna say every girlfriend will like it, but if she doesn't you might wanna examine your relationship (jk).
There are explosions a plenty, enough to please your inner pyro.
But there is also a touch of social commentary. We do live with a media that is controlled by ratings and ads (aka the almighty buck), and this film goes with the conclusion that we'll keep heading in that direction. killing people for ratings.
There's also the underlying theme of a dad just wanting to get back to his baby.
But mostly there are a lot of explosions.
