begining looks a lot like the battle for Hoth

I got very into this movie. A lot of the movie is spent with you trying to figure out which side Richard Burton is on. And really its a little longer than it needs to be. But once they finally get around to killing/ exploding Nazis, its cinematic gold.
The whole time I was watching the movie I was thinking it seemed a lot like "The Guns Of Navaronne" (another exploding Nazis classic) then I discovered they were written by the same person.
On a side note, I got a Clint Eastwood box set and its my new years resolution to watch and review all of them. This is my first one
