I felt this move should have been entitled: The 13th Amendment. It's really not about the man it's about the amendment. Not that you shouldn't make a film about the amendment that freed the slaves, but when it called Lincoln, I expect it to be about Lincoln.
I felt like I was just watching Oscar-fodder. Not that that's always a bad thing, but Mr. Spielberg, if you should read this, you don't need them. Your films both Oscar winning and not are the finest in American Cinema.
To me this movie felt a little hollow.
