The Haunting in Conneticut.

A story revolving around a family with a son who suffers from cancer, they move into a cheap rented home. a dream for ther family, but there's a catch - it's a former funeral home. Matt Campbell, who suffers from the cancer, takes thge basemnt as his room whilst undergroing radical treatment for his disease. BIG MISTAKE. A series of increasingly errie and terrifying supernatural events occur, with Matt delving into the houses history with his rather attractive carer, Wendy and learning that back in the 19th century, a mediuym by the name of Jonah helped a necromancer scientist (indeed) named Ramsey Aickman in his research of necromancy. The event sof the past show uis Jonah is a friendly, if not grotesque and monstrous, ghost who wants to warn Matt about the tormented spirits Aickamn trapped in the house. Matt takes dramatic action when a priest played by the awesome Elias Koteas tried to exorcise Jonah - another big mistake. Matt burns the house down (nearly) and is saved from demonic possession by...magic, or praying. Either one.

THIC is an average horror film, based on the supposedly true events. It's fun for a while, but ultimately forgettable. The effects are nice and some of the disturbuing images lend a dark edge to the plot. Jonah's burnt up ghost is especially creepy. The performances are solid, especially from Elias Koteas who plays the priest who knows all about the dark spirits.
This film will definitely not scare you much, but it's enjoable enough. Give it a try.

If you like horror movies, rent it out or get it cheap, otherwise, leave it alone.
