Great Fantasy Lost In the Summer Shuffle

I've been meaning to mention this gem of a film for awhile and almost forgot. I'm bummed it didn't do very well in theaters because it's honestly one of the best movies I saw this summer. It's coming to DVD on December 18th and I highly recommend you check it out. I think it might have done better with a November/December theatrical release as that seems to be the trend with fantasy movies. This was a great fantasy tale. I haven't read Neil Gaiman's book so I don't know how great of an adaptation it is but I really enjoyed the story. The actors are really great. Claire Daines is beautiful as always. It's a sweet love story with a great adventure tale thrown in to boot. It was kind of like The Princess Bride but if someone like Terry Gilliam took the helm. Hopefully the film will get the recognition it deserves when it is released on DVD.
