McClane's back and just as awesome as ever!

Back to basics, John is family oriented again, although this time he has gotten over Holly and he is focusing on protecting his daughter...from everything from boyfriends to terrorists. John is once again teamed up with a civilian, Matt Farrell, played by Justin Long. This makes for a very different match up as Longs character is not nearly as strong willed or action oriented as Samuel L. Jackson's character in the previous film.
When I first saw the previews I couldn't tell if this would be the deal breaker that destroys the franchise or not. It really seemed to me that this one would be too rough a ride to accept and that it would be a bust. When Bruce Willis was interviewed before the premier he said "I think this one is going to be viewed as good as the first Die Hard" and I couldn't help but laugh and think "yeah right". I am excited to say that I have never been so happy to have been proven wrong in my life! This one holds the spirit of the first movie while keeping up with and even exceeding the high paced action set by Die Hard: With a Vengence.
Well worth it, should be seen in the theatre, and a must add to the collection once it hits DVD!
