This movie is a brilliant take on all of the standard zombie movies. Everything that you would expect to see in a zombie film is here, and they make sure to point out all of the most obvious points. The one thing that really kicked off this movie as being a great film is that this is the survival of and every day guy. Most zombie movies show you how the zombies came to be, one of the people is a scientist, there is usually a cop that trys to maintain order and someone always has the briilliant plan of how they will survive or esacpe. This isn't the case, Shaun of the Dead starts with zombies already being in the streets, although no one really seems to pay much attention to them until its too late. Shaun and Ed are just two guys that lead average lives, and now it is up to them to find a way to survive, save Shaun's girlfriend Liz, her friends and Shaun's family. For a unique perspective on the zombie genre, and movie that will make you laugh, this film is top notch.
