An all around good movie.

Chasing Amy is a great movie! When I first saw it in the theaters, I hated it. Yep there I go contradicting myself, but its true. When I first saw this movie I was expecting another great Clerks or Mallrats style movie. I thought that it would have a lot of interesting points and great back and fourth dialogue and as everyone else though... lots of Jay and Silent Bob! But when it was winding down and the duo did appear on the screen I felt that it was a total let down, Silent Bob wasn't doing his usual routine of keeping quiet and then issuing one sentence of wisdom before the end of the movie, instead he had this extra long monologue that made me feel as though he had just given up on what the character was about.
Well here I am 10 years later and I have an entirely different out look on this movie, it still have the witty banter and the great dialogue, it has a lot of classic moments that set this movie apart from the others. I like the fact Jason Lee is playing Banky and not Brodie in this movie, it gives him a different persona, and yet it still a great character. I like that Afflek (who-fleck?) is playing Holden and not the same "Jerk from Fashionable Male" it shows that he has some depth as an actor (even the shallow end of the pool has some depth). And now when I watch this movie I watch it for what it is, and not for what it isn't.. it isn't a Jay and Silent Bob movie.. so their walk on was a great addition, a little unorthodox for those that were expecting more, but still a great addition.
I really have a much better appreciation for this film now than I did 10 years ago, and I think it makes a great tie in to the Jersey chronicles.
