Intense and twisted

Sick, sadistic, twisted, disturbing, and absolutely evil... and thats only a couple of the reasons why I love it. This movie is by far one of the most obscurely violent films that you can ever see. Micky and Mallory Knox are played by Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis. They are the epitome of what America news and film has bred, and while this movie is a disturbing look at through the eyes of a couple of serial killers, it was also a kick in the teeth to American news media. Harrelson's portrayal of Micky Knox was compared to the idea that he could have been portraying his real life father who was a professional hitman, and was serving 2 life sentences at the time the film was made.
Robert Downey Jr. portrays an news journalist that makes his living on the suffering of others. When Micky and Mallory started their violent rampage he began running stories about them on his show, and then he pushed the limits by following their trail until their capture. The importance of this part of the movie is that there are many journalists that do just that, they follow the stories that people are dying to see and they bleed the story dry for higher ratings and more money.
The movie was well done, the various styles of film that was used to shoot the movie, as well as the different takes and dramatic styles used to compile the final cut, including black and white, hard grain, animation and references to tv style (a variation of I Love Lucy, titled I Love Mallory) made the drug laced fast pace of the movie a great mix.
