The Psycho series has always been one that I enjoyed. These were the first horror movies that I was able to see when I was growing up, and Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) was always a disturbing character. For a 1st time Director Anthony Perkins did a hell of a job, and it actually has some suspenseful scenes as well, plus the score was absolutely awesome!
It's more of a Dark comedy really, however it works extremely well, and it keeps you guessing throughout (the 1st time anyway), plus you can see the The Bates motel and house is starting to wear and tare!. The ending does pave way for a sequel continuing this story, however they decided to act like it never happened in Psycho 4, and go for a prequel/sequel, and you can clearly see Norman is going insane once again, plus it had some fantastic funny dialog as well!. Anthony Perkins and Diana Scarwid had awesome chemistry together, and it's extremely well written and made as well!, plus it had some creepy atmosphere at times as well. This is the least in the series for sure, however its still a fantastic sequel with some great humor an awesome story and wonderful performances!
We also get to see Jeff Fahey in his first big cast role before he became the Lawnmower man.
If you like this Psycho series this is a good addition to it, and it holds up well with the previous movies.
