One of the few documentaries that I could find interest in, The Legend of Ron Jeremy is an interesting film about the true life story of one of America's biggest icons, even if it is in what is considered to be a disreputable industry. Having seen many interviews with him over the years, Ron Jeremy is well known not only for his...well...acting ability, but he is also known for his sense of humor. The man has some of the best comedic timing that I have seen in years, and his stand up routines are incredibly funny. The film makes you feel for him, while its hard to feel bad for a man that has had as much sex as he has, you can really see that he wanted something different in the long run, now that he is getting older he talks about how he has spent years trying to get into mainstream movies, and how while he has been in thousands of adult films, he doesn't have a wife or a girlfriend, and while he wants a family he's at the point where he's not so sure he will ever have that opportunity.
The film is fairly insightful on his life, and it really lets you see into a persona that most people don't get to know on an everyday level. While I am not a huge fan of documentaries, this was an interesting one, and anyone that recognizes him or his previous work would probably appreciate the film in general.
