Not a bad movie for its time.

Dabney Coleman has been out of the lime light for a long time. His biggest achievement to those of us that grew up in the 80's and 90's was a short lived TV show that he starred in called Drexell's Class. During that time he cashed in on his celebrity by starring in a number of low budget movies, the most well know of which being Short Time. He plays Burt Simpson, a cop, that has just gone in for a routine physical. While he is there a junkie is also in for a few tests as well, fearing that he won't pass the junkie switches the labels on his test and Simpsons. When Simpson gets the results back it says he only has a couple weeks to live. Knowing that his family won't compensated if he dies of a disease, he sets out to do the most dangerous things he can on the job in hopes of getting killed in the line of duty.
Not a bad premise (while not entirely believable) the movie is pretty amusing.
