This movie pissed me off. I love my horror and at the same time I love my documentaries. This movie takes the same premise of Blair Witch and pushes it to a dangerous degree. Durring all the trailers they proclaim that this is based on real events. At the start of the movie Jovovich comes out to proclaim that she is an actress brought in to portray this shockingly true story, backed by real events and evidence. They even go so far as to tell you to look it up, it's all true. When you do look up the information in fact there will be dozens of websites and articles written about it which makes you wonder how have I not heard of this before? Thank god for this movie to shed some light on this amazing happening I must have been sleeping through a rock durring. It's is only when you get to about the 3rd google search page that it becomes obvious every site proclaiming this tale to be true, every bit of evidence they had on this case was completely fabricated by the movie studio to promote their movie. If you want to promote yourself thats fine but flat out lying to people to get them to buy tickets its just wrong and frankly, I think should be illegal when done to such degree. To lie to the consumer this much to get their money is just shame full. Could you imagine a beauty company making commercials telling you their product will with 100% accuracy make your face look 20 years younger, push a bunch of clinical trials in your face supporting that it will absolutely work, hiring an actor to dupe people into thinking hes a doctor and fabricating every bit of evidence to get you to purchase their product? No? Because such things are illegal, to proclaim them as 1005 truth and go to such an extreme to lie and decieve people into buying your product is wrong. If they wanted to make this movie and make it seem like the blair witch or the lot of other movies coming out now in that documentary type style, that's fine. But to go to such an extent to lie and decieve people is wrong. Anyway on to the movie itself.

While the movie loses alot of it's credibility due to the way it did it's promotion (and frankly I have lost all respect for Jovovich because of it, its one thing for the movie to do promotion she cannot control but to come out and say 'Hi I'm Milla Jovavich and the story I am about to present is 100% true, she's using her name and reputation to add to the lie and should really be ashamed of herself for trying to con her fans) there is a surprising amount of it based on fact. Not actual occurances but they at least did their homework and complied a grouping of some of the better arguments for close encounters on record. The scarriest part of the movie was actually the face of the 'real' doctor durring her interview. I am sure their had to be some clever CGI there, and in that respect it was well done. But in their effort to make you believe this story they alm
