This film started with a lot of potential. Solid cast, good story, etc... The problem is, I'm not sure it ever knew where it was going. The religous conotations completly outwayed and overpowered the film, and any story that may have been there from the start was completly lost. I have not read the book, but the film became complicated and somewhat confusing the further it went, which leads me to believe that the adaptation was not good. In the end, it does tie together somewhat, but it was far too little too late. I stayed for the entire viewing, which was more than several people in the same theatre did. I would not recommend this film.
