A Visual Treat but a Familiar Storyline

I went to watch this movie because I had never seen a 3D movie before. The CG effects were simply stunning and captivating but the plot was very familiar. As the second half of the movie progressed it became less and less interesting to watch. The direction is okay and there is nothing to complain about the acting.
The movie is set in the future with humans trying to extract a precious mineral called "unobtanium" lying in the depths of a moon of a distant planet. The locals called Na'vi(giant 10-foot tall blue human like people) who lead a tribal sort of life refuse to relocate from the mineral rich areas. A team of scientists create "avatars" which are genetically created Na'vi that can be controlled by humans. Using the "avatars" the scientists attempt to convince the locals to leave while the military unit of the project plan to attack if the "avatars" fail to convince.
There is very little humour in the movie and it's clichéd. But the movie is worth watching just for the fantastic visuals. Kids in particular would enjoy this movie(although this is a movie for adults as well) as it is very colourful with wonderful forest settings and alien creatures. There is plenty of explosion as well.
Watch this movie in 3D for the best experience.
