Toss Some Aliens Into the Mix

This movie practically begs people not to see it. It takes the premise of Groundhog Day and Source Code, and also tosses in alien invasion on top of it (similar to Oblivion.) It shouldn't have worked, but it did. Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best movies of 2014. Bill Paxton's character was played to perfection. Tom Cruise's Major Cage character is genuinely scared as he is thrust into a front line of a last ditch invasion without any military combat experience. Great visual war scenes. This movie also loved to poke fun at itself. It's as if the writer knew people would make the Groundhog Day comparisons, so he named the female character "Rita", the same name of Andie McDowell's character in Groundhog Day. This movie has some hysterically funny situations of how Major Cage resets to start his day again, and again, and again. Great acting performances by Paxton, Blunt, and Cruise.
