More Than Just a Crime Film

Animal Kingdom is more than a crime film - it is a tight family drama that contains nuanced characters and an emotional script. Not since Goodfellas have I seen a crime film burdened with the overwhelming feeling of dread that a life of crime surely brings. Jacki Weaver is a standout here with an incredible performance, but the entire cast brings this terrifying portrait to life. One of 2010's best films, without a doubt.
