Poor Excuse for a Sequel

A slow, overly-talky, and unnecessary sequel to the 1982 film. There are two highlights here - the pulsing score by Daft Punk and the entrancing visual effects. The rest is garbage. There is too much exposition in the dialogue that only serves to bore after a while. The plot is, at times, confusing and messy. The performances are all wooden and empty, except for a few lively moments by Jeff Bridges and a hammy turn by Michael Sheen.
