This movie isn't as quirky as Jeunet's famed Amelie, but it is just as visually striking and, I would say, almost more emotionally powerful. Jeunet is a modern-day Fellini, combining visual metaphor with striking realism to paint a film that is both symbolic and literal in its emotional deconstruction.
