Although the main cast is back with the same realistic conviction in their performances, the suspense is largely sucked out of most of the action scenes. The shark becomes more of a "slasher" villain, having a scarred face and specifically stalking its prey, rather than the scarily mysterious rogue beast of the first film. Sillier than the first.
