Couldn't Get Into It

I'm not sure what it was, but I couldn't penetrate through the high class life exhibited in this film to grasp at anything I could relate to. The historical context of World War II is well-done here, but the stuffy scenes of aristocracy felt empty and forced (and they are many.) I felt more connection to earlier Di Sica films, such as The Bicycle Thief.
