A unique vision of Fellini's love affair with the great Italian city of Rome, shown through varying perspectives of history and time. Fellini, as always, takes a nonlinear, dream-like approach to his plot, and the film is best appreciated as a series of visual vignettes, rather than as a classically-structured story.
