Some of the sci-fi universe created in this action thriller is a little corny, but the action scenes land hard and brutally. Peter Weller manages to convey the right spots of emotion, for someone playing a laconic robotic killing machine and Kurtwood Smith is slimy and hatable as the film's villain.
