Brilliant Retelling of a Brilliant Series of Books

A beautiful film that manages to capture the spirit of adventure and the inside jokes/sight gags that saturate Herge's book series. Although the books stand on their own as masterpieces, the film manages to serve as a tremendous homage to the series. All the voice acting lovingly breathes life into the characters, but Andy Serkis' Haddock stands on his own as a memorable, blustery, often-drunk sidekick to Tintin and steals some of the film's best scene. Spielberg continuously keeps his camera moving, mirroring the constant change of perspective that a graphic novel utilizes and this results in some gorgeous scenery and panoramic scenes. A worthy film that hopefully sets up many more adaptations of the Tintin series.
