Directed with Ken Loach's characteristic penchant for everyday realism, Kes is a poignant coming of age story of a troubled teenager in England who finds a passion for falconry. The debut performance by David Bradley is deserving of all its accolades, as he manages to hit realistic chords of sadness and passion.
