The Shakespearan English can occasionally get confusing, but Orson Welles portrays Sir John Falstaff as a tragic and darkly comedic character and brings new depth to Shakespeare's popular creation. Also of note is an exciting and harrowing battle sequence, nestled amid scenes of deeper dialogue. Powerful, thanks mostly to Welles' performance.
