What starts out as a charming and fun adaptation of the TV series becomes a murky and chaotic stringing of bigger and bigger action sequences. The human characters that director Bay originally does a great job of establishing are quickly lost in the CGI-heavy action moments. The result is a technically impressive effort, but one missing a heart.
