With somewhat of sitcom aesthetic (think Scrubs), this medical tragicomedy lacks focus that keeps it from excellence. The cast is engaging, but the film bounces around and doesn't juggle its subplots with any surety. The film's emotional conclusion is well-done, but doesn't fully excuse the messiness that came before.
