Note to James Cameron: A shitty story plus pretty visuals DOES NOT EQUAL REVOLUTIONARY!!!!!!
Jeez, who would've thought the same morons who thought Transformers 2 was the best movie ever would pay good money to see this shit heap. Ok, fine. Shit heap is pushing it. I guess its an ok movie, but the fact that this film is getting such positive press is astounding to me.
First off, let me get one thing out of the way. All the things you heard about this film's story is TRUE. This has one of the most unoriginal story lines I have ever heard, and yet people are defending it. Hell, film critic Richard Roeper(one of my inspirations, I might add) said "Everyone claims Avatar rips off 'Dances with Wolves'. Well, last I remember Kevin Costner didn't go in an electric chamber and was transported to another world."
Well, Richard's right. You know why? BECAUSE THEY DID THAT IN THE MATRIX!!!! So not only does Avatar rip off Dances with Wolves, Pocahontas, Last of the Mohicans, and Ferngully, but it also has the Wachowski Bros' masterpiece to its unoriginal credits now.
Seriously, if this movie wasn't in 3D, not only would people not have seen it, but it would not even be getting the good reviews its been getting. People are calling this "The next Star Wars", well, at least with Star Wars George Lucas actually credited the inspirations instead of stealing shit out of movies he saw on a video store shelf.
On top of all that, people claim Avatar is the best film of the decade. NO!! Not even in the top 50. I can name 10 movies that are 100 times better than this: Lord of the Rings, Dark Knight, Memento, No Country for Old Men, The Departed, District 9, Slumdog Millionaire, Sideways, Donnie Darko, and even Clerks 2, a dick and fart joke comedy, are all better than Avatar. 'Cause lets face it, Jackson, Scorsese, The Coen Bros, and ESPECIALLY Nolan all beat Cameron any day.
Speaking of which, I actually used to have a lot of respect for Cameron. That was until everyone started sucking his cock and giving him millions of dollars just so he can give us pretty images to look at.
And my overall opinion on the 3D, THEY DID NOT UTILIZE THE 3D!!! THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THIS MOVIE TO BE IN 3D!!!!! THE 3D WAS FUCKING HORRIBLE!!!!! And thanks to him, all 3D movies suck now and all we ever get is a 3D movie every week. Thanks, James. Thanks a lot.
All in all, Avatar is just an overrated pile of nothingness. If you want a good Sci fi film, go rent District 9, Star Trek, and Moon. Hell, go see Inception. You know why? Cuz all of those are 10000000000x more original and more groundbreaking than Ava-tard will ever be.
