The Mexican

I expected a romantic comedy but it turns out to be much more than that. It's also a modern crime movie that has something to say about love and relationships. The cast is charismatic; I especially enjoyed Leroy and Sam's rumination about the complex web of caring about another person. Although the film is a bit too long and meandered a little, it's more than forgiven because it is successful at entertaining its audiences. The filmmakers even made the dog an interesting character. It's a light movie with nice twists and turns. If you're looking for a dark, brooding caper film, this is not for you. Otherwise, go ahead and watch it. It might catch you off-guard.
