I can't believe many critics gave this movie bad reviews. Personally, I found it fun and interesting from beginning to end. The ensemble cast each gave something special that made this film effective. Leonardo DiCaprio gets to play both sides of the good vs. evil spectrum and I was entertained. Even though the film lasts over two hours, it feels shorter than that. I thought some characters were unnecessary because in the end they were a bit forgotten and their storylines weren't truly resolved. But that's a very small problem. What matters is that the film found some sort of focus for the majority of the film. I was amazed during the last thirty minutes because I actually cared about what would happen to the protagonists. I usually am not prone to liking "historical" films but this one is well-made.
