One of Spielberg's modern classics. I'm not going to delve in the philosophy of this film because I can summarize it in one word: fascinating. This is more than a movie that relies on special effects. It also relies on imagination and creativity. I have several highlights regarding the film: the spyders, the chase in the car factory, and when Tom Cruise's character finally got his hands on one of the psychics. The performances are all equally great, which made this science fiction tale all the more convincing and involving. In a way, this movie reminded me of "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence" and "Blade Runner" because of its dark undertones. If the director had been different, this movie might've been a mess. If you want eye-popping special effects with a great story and stunning human imagery, this film is more than a candidate--it's a winner.
