A Bit Too Long

I liked this film but I can't give this movie a three stars out of four stars because there were more than a handful of scenes that dragged on which resulted to a two-hour running time. This is not your typical romantic comedy that was portrayed in the trailers. Instead, this film is about a man's addiction to poker and how he ruins his life and those people's lives that choose to associate with him. The poker scenes were absorbing because I'm a poker fan (although I'm not an expert). Eric Bana, Drew Barrymore, and Robert Duvall did the best they could with what they've been given. Still, I thought they could've done more with Debra Messing's character because she looks great and I miss her from "Will and Grace." With a little bit more editing and taking off scenes that are unnecessary to the story (such as the golf scene), this could've been a more solid, more focused, shorter film.
