A Different Awkward Small Comedy

This is a greatly uneven film but somehow it all works because adolescence is unpredictable. Reece Thompson did a great job portraying a heartbroken kid in search for his identity who also happens to stutter when he speaks (and he wishes to debate!). Even though he was full of angst, he wasn't emo (or annoying); he managed to stay charming and I did root for him from beginning to end. I must also commend Nicholas D'Agosto for picking up the story's pace whenever he appears on screen. The story turned somewhat slow deep into the story and he made it come to life. If one enjoys awkward or dry humour, this is the movie to watch. The only minor complaint I have is that I wish there were more debate scenes because I sensed a fire whenever characters start talking really fast. It's a small film but it's a damn good one.
