Impressive Research

Was this nominated for an Oscar? If not, it should have been. It is not very often that audiences get to watch an actual abortion and presenting the history of both pro-choice and pro-life sides in an equal manner. It really is a long film and shot in black-and-white, so not many people will get to see this. It is unfortunate because it really does have a lot of important points and the research is quite impressive. Towards the end, I very much enjoyed the shift into the psychology of women from the time they decide to get an abortion until after they have gone through the operation. I'm pro-choice but I thought it was nice to get a several insights of people who are pro-life. Even though I did not always agree with what they are saying (and yes, I did get mad sometimes), I learned to accept their beliefs. I think everyone can pretty much agree that seeing pieces of fetus that has been sucked by this vacuum-like machine is horrible... But I'm glad they showed it several times not to change anyone's minds but to simply show what actually happens when a woman gets an abortion. I thought this film was very real and touching and I recommend it to anyone who is simply interested in the whole pro-choice vs. pro-life debate.
