I really wanted to like this movie a lot more but I couldn't find myself to do so because I ultimately didn't care for the characters. I guess the film should've taken its time to grab a hold of their audiences and establish why they should care for the teenagers instead of just jumping into the unknown and take that risk. Still, there are a lot of creepy and gory scenes that casual moviegoers will enjoy. But if one is looking for a horror film worth discussing for more than thirty minutes, this is not it. For me, the highlight of the film is the goriest scene because it made me wince in so many unimaginable ways. I saw this picture with a few friends and they were absolutely horrified during that scene but I ended up laughing so much afterwards. The cliches made me laugh and some of the decisions that the characters made, I didn't agree with because they did it without thinking things through. It would have been a better picture if Jena Malone's character was not annoying and Shawn Ashmore's hair was shorter. Oh, and more jolt-inducing scenes, please!
