A Rookie Mistake.

The story borrowed from every cliche in martial arts movies, they even threw in a sports training montage! I don't really care about any of that if the action was there and delivered, but it didn't. In this day and age even bad special effects are usually not laughably bad but the CG blood was a major distraction especially in the buckets spewed by the faceless henchmen. The thing most lacking here was some damn competition for the charismatic lead, he's built like a brick house and his moves are flawless but the director seemed to forget that unless there is someone of equal talent on the other side it doesn't mean anything. Fight sequences are like a dance and if one person loses their footing it all goes to shit. It's an unforgivable oversight on part of the director, all the fight scenes are filmed with quick cuts and are a joke, because no one could keep up with this guy. I just hope in their follow up Mirageman they get someone with equal talent of the lead.
